Will Sopore Get New Development Boost? MLA Irshad Rasool Kar Unveils Key Projects

Sopore, May 05: Sopore is set to witness a fresh wave of development as local MLA Irshad Rasool Kar announced a series of infrastructure and public welfare projects aimed at transforming the town’s urban landscape.

Speaking about the upcoming initiatives, Kar said that a Mini Secretariat is in the pipeline to enhance administrative accessibility for residents. In a move to address traffic congestion, the MLA revealed that four parking facilities are planned across the town, with approvals already granted for two projects this year.

He further stated that efforts are underway to upgrade the drainage system and beautify the main town chowk to improve the overall civic environment. Plans have also been proposed for the development of graveyards, including tiling and installation of proper lighting facilities.

Additionally, the MLA disclosed that proposals for two marriage halls and child-friendly parking spaces have been submitted to meet growing community needs.

Highlighting economic development, Kar said that work is progressing on the ₹300 crore Transport Nagar project for the fruit mandi, which is expected to significantly boost trade and streamline transportation in the region.

The announcements have raised hopes among residents, who are now looking forward to the timely execution of these projects to bring tangible improvements to Sopore.
