₹7.11 crore assets attached in Srinagar over drug trafficking, terror cases
SRINAGAR — Srinagar Police has attached or frozen four immovable properties collectively valued at around ₹7.11 crore in connection with cases related to drug trafficking and terror activities, officials said on Saturday.
In the latest action, Police Station Zakura attached a residential house along with land at Bilal Colony, Zakura, valued at around ₹2.5 crore and belonging to Owais Ahmad Rather. The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 34/2026 under Sections 8/22 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Police said the property was identified during investigation as having been acquired in connection with illicit drug trafficking and was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act.
Earlier, Police Station Nowgam attached property worth around ₹2.85 crore belonging to Sheeraz Ahmed Sheikh of Wagoora, BK Pora, in connection with FIR No. 121/2023 under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act. The property includes a two-storeyed building, two shops and a rice mill constructed over 18 marlas of land.
Police Station Ahmadnagar also attached a residential property at Danihama, Hazratbal, valued at around ₹1.30 crore and belonging to Zahoor Ahmad Mir. The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 20/2026 registered under the Arms Act and various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Meanwhile, Police Station Shalteng froze a single-storeyed residential house with seven marlas of land at Check Mujgund, Srinagar, valued at around ₹46 lakh and belonging to Amir Ahmad Mir, in connection with FIR No. 43/2023 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Police said the action was aimed at targeting financial proceeds and assets allegedly linked to narcotics trafficking and terror-related activities.
Srinagar Police said it will continue to identify, trace, freeze and attach properties allegedly generated from proceeds of illicit activities as part of efforts to disrupt the financial networks supporting drug trafficking and terror activities. — (KIMS)
