Srinagar Police recovers three minor girls from Amritsar within 72 hours
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Srinagar Police on Friday said they traced and recovered three missing minor girls from Amritsar, Punjab, within 72 hours of their disappearance in a coordinated operation conducted with the assistance of Punjab Police.
According to a police statement, the recovery was made in connection with FIR No. 63/2026 registered under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh.
Acting promptly on the complaint, Srinagar Police launched an intensive investigation and developed vital leads regarding the whereabouts of the missing girls.
A dedicated police team was deputed to Punjab, where, with the active support and close coordination of Punjab Police, all three girls were successfully traced and recovered safely from Amritsar within 72 hours, the statement said.
Police said the recovered girls are being brought back to Srinagar, where all necessary legal formalities will be completed and further investigation will be carried out in accordance with law.
Srinagar Police appreciated the timely cooperation, professionalism and valuable assistance extended by Punjab Police, which played a crucial role in the successful recovery of the girls.
Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of children and urged the public to promptly report missing person cases or any suspicious activities to the nearest police station for immediate action. — (KIMS)
