J&K govt sanctions ₹10.22 crore for Tribal Tourism Village in Poonch

JAMMU — The Jammu and Kashmir Government has granted administrative approval for the development of a state-of-the-art Tribal Tourism Village at Behri Qasab in Mendhar area of Poonch district.

The project, sanctioned at an estimated cost of ₹10.22 crore under the Capex Budget 2026-27, aims to showcase the region’s rich tribal culture and strengthen local tourism infrastructure.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the initiative is also expected to create new economic opportunities for local youth and help position Poonch as a vibrant destination on the tourism map. — (KIMS)
