Anantnag Police Attaches Property Worth ₹60 Lakh of Notorious Drug Peddler Under NDPS Act

Anantnag, June 3: In a major action against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police on Wednesday attached a two-storey residential house worth approximately ₹60 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
The attached property comprises a concrete two-storey residential house built on six marlas of land. The property belongs to Aasif Hussain Khan alias Soab Don, son of Abdul Gani Khan and a resident of Anchidora, Anantnag.
Police said the attachment was carried out under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after completion of all legal formalities. Investigations revealed that the property had been acquired through proceeds generated from illicit drug trafficking and narcotics-related activities.
Officials stated that the action is part of the ongoing drive to dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers and ensure that assets created through illegal drug trade are confiscated in accordance with the law.
Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to combating the drug menace and making the district drug-free. The police also appealed to the public to continue supporting law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to drug peddling and other criminal activities.
