CM visits flood-hit Poonch, reviews relief efforts; condoles cloudburst victims’ family

JAMMU (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday visited the flood-affected areas of Poonch district to assess the damage caused by the recent floods and review the ongoing relief, rehabilitation and restoration measures.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Abdullah visited the district to meet the affected people and assess the damage and relief requirements first-hand. He also held a review of the relief, rehabilitation and restoration work with the district administration.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also travelled to Murrah in Surankote, where he met the family that lost a loved one in the recent cloudburst.

He offered his condolences to the bereaved family, expressed solidarity with them during their time of grief, and assured them of all possible assistance and support from the government.

The visit comes amid ongoing efforts by the administration to restore normalcy in the flood-affected areas and provide relief to those impacted by the recent natural calamities. — (KIMS)
