QUL, Koppert Join Hands to Promote Biological Agriculture Across North India and Himalayas
Srinagar, June 25:
In a major step towards promoting sustainable horticulture and biological farming practices, Qul FruitWall Farm Installations Pvt. Ltd. (QUL) and Koppert Biological Systems have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing biological agriculture across North India and the Himalayan region.
The partnership was formalised during a public event held in Srinagar, where QUL CEO and Founder Khuram Mir and Head of Asia Pacific at Koppert Biological Systems, Rob Rippens, signed a Memorandum of Signing, marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration focused on sustainable agricultural development.
The partnership builds upon more than three years of cooperation between the two organisations through field demonstrations, farmer outreach programmes, and biological agriculture initiatives in the region.
As part of the collaboration, both organisations have expressed their intention to establish a North India Centre of Production, which will serve as a platform for expanding local capabilities in biological agriculture and supporting sustainable horticulture systems suited to regional conditions.
Speaking on the occasion, Khuram Mir said that the future of Himalayan horticulture depends not only on productivity but also on resilience, particularly at a time when farmers are facing challenges such as climate change, rising production costs, and changing market demands. He said the partnership combines global expertise with local implementation to strengthen horticulture across the region.
Rob Rippens said that Koppert has spent more than five decades helping farmers worldwide harness nature-based solutions to improve productivity, quality, and sustainability. He added that the company sees significant potential in the Himalayan region and believes biological agriculture will play a key role in addressing future agricultural challenges.
The collaboration will focus on biological crop protection, pollination solutions, soil health improvement, regenerative agriculture, farmer education, and sustainable orchard management practices.
The initiative is expected to benefit growers across Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Ladakh, and other horticulture-producing regions of North India by improving access to globally proven biological technologies adapted to local conditions.
The partnership also aligns with QUL’s long-term vision of building an integrated horticulture ecosystem that includes orchard development, sustainable production systems, market access, infrastructure, and innovation.
With QUL’s strong regional presence and Koppert’s global expertise in biological agriculture, the partnership aims to contribute to a more resilient, productive, and sustainable future for horticulture in the Himalayan region.
