Two drug peddlers arrested in Pulwama; Heroin, charas-like substances recovered
Pulwama, Jun 11: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Pulwama Police achieved another success by apprehending two drug peddlers and recovering heroin and charas-like contraband substances during naka checking at Lajoora.
A police party deployed at a naka established near Hanfia Model School, Lajoora intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration No. PB08CC-8542 for checking. During the search, heroin weighing approximately 8 grams and charas-like substance weighing approximately 3.5 grams were recovered from the possession of the two occupants.
The accused were identified as Prince Sharma S/o Bishaki Ram R/o Akhnoor, Jammu and Jagjeet Singh S/o Mashoor Singh R/o Chattergam, Tral, Awantipora. Both were arrested on the spot and the motorcycle used in the commission of the offence was also seized.
Accordingly, FIR No. 112/2026 under Sections 8/20, 21, and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source of the contraband and identify any further links in the narcotics network.
Pulwama Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and continues to take stringent action against those involved in narcotics-related activities.
