Important Information for Rail Passengers: Restoration of New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Train (04081/04082), Now to Run via Diverted Route Instead of Full Cancellation
Jammu, May 27: Jammu Division always strives to provide passengers with a safe, accessible, and comfortable travel experience. In this context, keeping the growing demand of passengers and their convenience paramount, a very important decision has been taken by Northern Railway’s Jammu Division.
Earlier, due to various unavoidable reasons, it was decided to fully cancel Train No. 04081/04082 (New Delhi – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – New Delhi) for certain upcoming dates. However, considering passenger convenience, instead of fully cancelling the trains, approval has now been granted to restore them with a diverted route.
Commenting on the decision taken by Railways in the interest of passengers, Shri Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu said:
“Passenger convenience is our top priority. Cancelling 04081/04082 would have caused inconvenience to thousands of passengers, especially devotees traveling for darshan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. Therefore, it has been decided to run it via an alternative route. Passengers are requested to plan their journey keeping in mind the diverted route and timetable.”
For the information of all concerned passengers, detailed information regarding the operation, revised route, and dates of this train is given below:
1. Train No. 04081 (New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra)
-Journey Commencing Date: This arrangement will be applicable for the train departing from New Delhi on 29.05.2026, 01.06.2026 and 03.06.2026.
– Revised Route: Instead of its regular route, this train will now run via New Delhi – Ghaziabad – Saharanpur – Ambala Cantt to its destination.
– Skipped Stoppages: Due to the change in route, this train will not halt at Panipat and Kurukshetra railway stations. Passengers of these stations are requested to look for alternative arrangements.
2. Train No. 04082 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi)
– Journey Commencing Date: This arrangement will be applicable for the train departing from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra on 30.05.2026, 02.06.2026 and 04.06.2026.
– Revised Route: Instead of its regular route, this train will now run via Ambala Cantt – Saharanpur – Ghaziabad – New Delhi.
– Skipped Stoppages: Due to the change in route, this train will also not provide services at Kurukshetra and Panipat railway stations during the return journey.
The railway administration requests all passengers to plan their travel keeping in mind the non-availability of halts at Kurukshetra and Panipat stations.
