More than 50 FIRs in 24 Days: Anantnag Police Intensify War Against Drugs, Says SSP Amod Ashok Nagpure

Anantnag, April 24: While speaking to ANN News, SSP Anantnag Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure said the 100-day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan is progressing in a positive direction, with active support and cooperation coming from different sections of society. He said the campaign has grown into a collective movement involving police, civil society, educational institutions and the general public.

Highlighting enforcement measures, the SSP said more than 50 FIRs have been registered in just 24 days against drug peddlers in Anantnag, reflecting the seriousness and intensity of the ongoing anti-narcotics drive. He said strong action against those involved in drug trafficking is continuing alongside awareness and prevention initiatives.

Shri Nagpure said the campaign is not limited to legal action alone but also focuses on protecting youth from the menace of drugs through community engagement, awareness programmes and coordinated efforts at different levels. He noted that growing public participation has strengthened the campaign and added momentum to efforts aimed at creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.

He emphasized that cooperation from the public has played a vital role in making the drive effective and said police remain committed to intensifying the fight against narcotics. Reaffirming the resolve of Jammu and Kashmir Police, the SSP said sustained efforts under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan will continue, with strict action against drug peddlers and continued outreach to ensure a drug-free and safer society.
