J&K team creates history, wins 11 medals at 2nd MMA SFI National MMA Championship
Srinagar, Apr 24: The Jammu & Kashmir Mixed Martial Arts team delivered a sensational performance at the 2nd MMA SFI National MMA Championship, held at KD Singh Babu Stadium from 16th to 19th April 2026, securing an impressive haul of 3 Gold, 4 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals.
The championship was organised by the MMA Sports Federation of Uttar Pradesh under the guidance of the Mixed Martial Arts Sports Federation of India, which is affiliated with the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association and the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts.
The prestigious championship was a Road to Asian Games Japan 2026 and the Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 2026.
It also served as the selection event for the upcoming Asian MMA Championship and Youth MMA Championship 2026, which are ranking series events for Asian Games Japan 2026 and AIMAG Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 2026.
In a major boost for the region, three athletes from Jammu & Kashmir have been selected for the upcoming Asian MMA Championship and Youth MMA Championship 2026.
This achievement marks the new era of transparent MMA in the region, providing a recognised and credible platform for athletes under the leadership of Fazan.
